Winner of the 2022 BBC Young Musician of the Year Award at the age of 16, Jaran Ziegler became the first violist in the competition’s history to do so. In this concert, he showcases a full range of musical masters. From the structured perfection of Bach’s ‘Prelude’ and ‘Allemande’, through beautiful contemplations of Tabakova and Vierne, to the exuberant warmth of Brahms showing off his inimitable genius for romantic flourish and colour in music. Always a treat to hear such performances from today’s musical trailblazers.
