What is Musicate?

Established in 2016, a refreshed Musicate will re-launch in 2024. If this is too long to wait, don’t worry you can book onto a Musicate CPD day in the interim.

Musicate CPD sessions

This is an opportunity for classroom teachers and music subject leads in Gloucestershire primary and SEND settings to attend a day of Musicate CPD led by experts in music education and to find out more about the full Musicate offer.

All CPD sessions will take place at Cheltenham Chase Hotel, with refreshments and lunch provided.

New Musicate will launch in July 2024 and roll out from September 2024

We are excited to confirm that Musicate has returned in 2024.

For classroom teachers in primary schools and SEND settings, an annual CPD programme will develop skills and confidence to deliver an engaging music curriculum. Delivered by experts in music education, the programme will reflect new thinking and curricula in music, and explore links with other areas of the curriculum.

For Musicats (early career musicians) there will be a training programme in music workshop development – a key skill for those embarking on a freelance portfolio career. Alongside this they will be able to participate in Festival-related opportunities and progression routes such as the concerts for schools at Cheltenham Jazz and Music Festivals.
