Gustav Holst’s birthplace is a unique period house. Discover the life and times of Holst and view many of his possessions, including a piano on which he composed The Planets.

Bus

Bus routes A, N, D, 94, 99, 608 all pass near the museum. For more on local bus services

Rail

The closest train station is Cheltenham Spa

From the station: 

Bus: Approx 15 mins. You can get Stagecoach Bus D towards Bishops Cleeve – alight at Holy Trinity Church, which is a one minute walk from the Museum.

Walk or cycle: Approx 25 mins. You can follow the Honeybourne line cycle and footpath into the centre of Cheltenham.

Parking

Holst Victorian House does not have a dedicated carpark. You may be able to park for up to four hours on some of the surrounding residential streets including Pittville Lawn and Albert Road.

The nearest car park is the NCP Portland Street car park (GL50 4DW). Try to park at the northern end furthest away from the town centre. Turn right at the traffic lights into Clarence Road and you will see the Museum.


Accessibility

Please be mindful that the house has 4 floors and no lift, and there are 5 steps up to the front door. Seating is available for visitors on every level.

There is a modern outside toilet, with baby changing facilities.
